David Loeb was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania and received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania. While completing his undergraduate studies, he performed professionally as a jazz pianist with many Philadelphia jazz artists including guitarists Jimmy Bruno and Kevin Eubanks, saxophonist Bob Malach, violinist John Blake and bassist Charles Fambrough. In his senior year, Dave performed the Piano Concerto in G, by Ravel, with The West Chester University Symphony Orchestra, as honor soloist.

Dave received a Master in Music in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media from The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and studied jazz piano will Bill Dobbins and arranging with Rayburn Wright. As a graduate student, Dave participated in master classes with Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, played for Eddie Daniels and Randy Brecker with The Eastman Jazz Ensemble and received an honor grant to study with jazz pianist and composer Clare Fischer in Los Angeles. He also performed professionally and recorded with jazz legends Pepper Adams, Joe Locke and Jimmy Owens during his year in Rochester.

After graduation, Dave became music director, pianist and arranger for the Tony award-winning entertainer Ben Vereen and subsequently moved to Los Angeles where he established a successful career as a top Hollywood studio keyboardist. He played for many popular television shows including Hill Street Blues, LA Law, and Ally McBeal, and for several television movies including Gypsy, starring Bette Midler, The Natalie Cole Story, and Cinderella, starring Whitney Houston.

Dave also performed for twenty feature films including The Birdcage, starring Robin Williams, the Academy award-winning score for the Disney animated film Pocahontas and Harlem Nights, starring Eddie Murphy and composed by Herbie Hancock.

As a jazz pianist, Dave has worked with many reowned instrumental jazz artists including Freddie Hubbard, Tom Scott, Ray Brown, Paul Horn, Joe Farrell, Bill Watrous, Bobby Shew and Tom Harrell as well as with legendary jazz vocalists Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams and Anita O' Day. He has also played for various television specials including the Salt Lake City Olympics Opening Ceremony, The Emmy Awards and Comic Relief on HBO.

David orchestrated for several artists including George Benson, Doc Severinsen and for Miriam Makeba's performance with The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra fearturing Miriam Makeba. He arranged for many variety television specials, including The Academy Awards and The American Music Awards and composed the scores for the television documentaries And Thou Shalt Honor, on PBS, and Cycling Through China, on the Disney Channel. David also created the music for a song recorded by Dolly Parton, on Columbia Records. He is the principal pianist with The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and has accompanied an eclectic array of artists including Garth Brooks, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Peabo Bryson, Bonnie Raitt, Monica, Nell Carter, Patti LuPone, Russell Watson, Audra McDonald, Jennifer Holiday, Curtis Mayfield, Melissa Manchester, Charlotte Church and Jewell. David also conducted serveral nationally recognized orchestras including the Dallas, Atlanta, and National Symphony Orchestras for Ben Vereen and the Philadelphia Orchestra for the internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater.
