Jonathan Good is Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He holds the Master of Music degree in history and literature from Ohio University and the Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Mansfield University, with additional conducting study under Thomas Schippers and Robert Shaw and composition study under the guidance of Karl Arndt and Vincent Persichetti. In a career approaching nearly three decades, Good has served as Director of Instrumental Music at Memorial High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Director of Bands and Associate Director of the School of Music at the University of Tulsa, and Director of Bands at Montana State University where he served for twelve years as Head of the Department of Music. Prior to his appointment at UNLV, he was Chair of the Department of Music and Art at Tennessee Technological University.

As conductor, ensembles under Professor Good's direction have presented performances at many regional and national conferences including a national biennial conference performance and two divisional conference appearances for the College Band Director National Association, a divisional and national biennial in-service conference appearance for the Music Educators National Conference, and several performances for state music association meetings in Ohio, Oklahoma and Montana.

Internationally recognized as a leading authority on British music for wind band, Good maintains an active schedule as guest conductor, lecturer, and adjudicator, and has appeared in these capacities throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He appears with regularity as guest conductor and clinician in Great Britain where he has been responsible for many British premiers of American compositions including works by Frank Ticheli, Mark Camphouse, Carolyn Bremer and David Maslanka. Likewise, he has conducted the American premiers of several works by British composers Derek Bourgeois, Adam Gorb, David Smith, Martin Ellerby, and Nigel Clarke, to name a few. He is the author of British Music for Wind Band, a conductor's resource guide to the wind band music of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Mr. Good is the recipient of several awards including the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Tulsa, the Distinguished Alumni Award from Mansfield University, an Alumni Award for Excellence from Ohio University, and is a two-time recipient of the Excellence Award in Teaching from Montana State University.
