The UNLV Music Library is the newest of the branch libraries on campus, opening in August 2001. It is located in the Beam Music Center at the northeast corner of campus. The Music Library houses a small music reference collection, approximately 25,000 scores, and over 6,000 recordings focusing on classical music and jazz. Staffing for the Music Library includes a Music Librarian, two classified staff members, and 4-6 student workers. The Music Library's primary goal is to support the curriculum of the Music Department and the teaching and research needs of faculty and students. Tours of the facility can be scheduled by calling (702) 895-2541.

Services provided in the Music Library include circulation and reference. Reserve materials for classes in the Music Department are located in the Music Library. The UNLV Library Catalog will give information on reserve materials simply by typing in an instructor's name. Instruction sessions can be scheduled with the Music Librarian for both classes and individuals. A copy machine is available, operated with RebelCOPY Cards. Rebel Guest Cards are available for $5 and $10. The Music Library has four computer workstations, providing access to the library's catalog, the Internet, New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, and more.

Listening and viewing services are provided through a new state-of-the-art system that includes twelve listening/viewing carrels and the ability to handle all formats. A small listening room is also available for three to five people who wish to listen to materials as a group.

Circulation privileges are as follows:

* UNLV/CCSN undergraduates: three weeks for most print materials, recordings must be used in-house
* UNLV/CCSN faculty: semester for most print materials, recordings two weeks
* Public borrowers: two weeks for most print materials, recordings must be used in-house
