Clarinet
The University of Nevada Las Vegas offers many wonderful opportunities for a clarinetist who plans to major or minor in music, as well as for those who wish to major in other subjects. Students may audition for the University Symphony Orchestra, the University Wind Orchestra, the University Symphonic Band, the Morelli Wind Quintet, or form their own chamber ensembles.
Each music major receives a one-hour private lesson every week of the semester. Participation in weekly repertoire classes allows students time to explore orchestral music, chamber music, solo repertoire, and to perform in front of each other.
Scholarships and participation awards are available for music majors, and participation awards are available for non-majors who take part in two large ensembles. UNLV offers a variety of degrees at the undergraduate level, as well as Masters degrees in Applied Clarinet or Woodwind Doubling and the Doctor of Musical Arts in Applied Clarinet.
