Voice Area: Undergraduate Application Process & Audition Information

1. Apply to the University.

2. Contact Dr. Tod Fitzpatrick, Vocal Area Coordinator, to express your interest in attending UNLV.

3. Look for the Departmental Scholarship Audition Day listed on the Music Department website. Contact the Music Department Office (702) 895-3332 and sign-up for a time.

4. Scholarship Audition requirements:

A. Please prepare at least one solo song.

B. While not mandatory, it is encouraged that you sing one song in English and one in a foreign language.

C. Some Possible Classical Repertoire Suggestions:

- Early Italian Arias. (Caldara, Pergolesi, Scarlatti, etc.)

- American or English songs. (Copland, Quilter, Finzi, etc.)

- German songs (Lieder). (Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, etc.)

- French songs (Melodie). (Faure, Debussy, Ravel, etc.)

D. An accompanist will be provided. If you prefer, you may bring your own pianist. Do not bring a recorded accompaniment.
