Founded in 2006, the Sialia Trio is comprised of three exceptionally accomplished musicians, all of whom are faculty in residence at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Since its inception, the trio has performed for enthusiastic audiences in the United States as well as South America. The trio has recently completed a tour of the Midwest, premiered new music at the 4th Festival of Contemporary Music Festival of Lima, Peru, and given several master classes. Sialia takes its name from the North American bird species also known as bluebird. Jorge Grossmann's Sialia Trio was composed for, and dedicated to this ensemble.
