Green Valley Chamber Music Festival
August 11-17, 2008 - University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Enrico Elisi, Artistic director
Guest Instrumentalists: Gianluca Luisi (pianist), Elliott Cheney (cellist)
You are invited to attend the third Green Valley Chamber Music Festival (GVCMF), one of the most exciting summer chamber music events that Las Vegas has to offer! GVCMF provides a unique opportunity for chamber music-making. Unlike most summer festivals held in the United States, chamber music is the focus of the experience at GVCMF. Young artists develop musical skills through study and daily coaching with experienced teachers in an intensive six-day course that culminates in a final recital. Lectures and master classes are also part of our program. Moreover, pianists will have the opportunity to play their repertoire in a private lesson setting for additional individual attention during the festival.
GVCMF proudly announces the addition of two new faculty members: international concert pianist Gianluca Luisi ( 1st prize winner of the J.S. Bach International Competition held in Germany) and UNLV conductor and violinist Taras Krysa, who will conduct the new string chamber orchestra formed by GVCMF participants. I hope you will join us for a nurturing, creative and exciting musical journey.
The Green Valley Chamber Music Festival is sponsored by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, College of Fine Arts (Dr. Jeffrey Koep, Dean) and Department of Music (Jonathan Good, Chair).
